There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Oktoberfest 

William Reid's biennial Oktoberfest fundraiser rallies parents, teachers, students and friends of William Reid School to raise needed funds to support our amazing school and staff! Oktoberfest is this year's ONLY fundraising event organized by William Reid School parents that supports the school. Parents decided several years ago to combine all of our fundraising efforts into one great social event instead of having smaller fundraisers (selling chocolates, baked goods, coupon books etc.) throughout the year. 

Oktoberfest is an important fundraiser because it enables us to purchase programs and learning tools for our great school without restrictions. Student agendas, teacher resources, school clubs, and school events and initiatives organized by School Council like Fall Fling, Last Blast, and maintaining the school ground naturalization area are all examples of what gets funded by Oktoberfest. Proceeds may also assist our school with funding library materials, musical instruments, computer/technology/audiovisual equipment, and the Artist in Residence program. 

Oktoberfest tickets are available for purchase through https://oktoberfestyyc.wixsite.com/2025. The event is Friday November 21 at 7pm, tickets are $60+fees, and all class basket and auction donations should go to designated drop houses between now and Monday November 17. Review your Checklist and get Class Basket ideas on the website. You can help by buying a ticket or making a monetary donation, contributing to the class baskets, contributing or soliciting Auction Donations, and taking part in the auction (silent auction is online and some items will be auctioned live). Support our kids and school with a fun night out!

EvenStart Hampers

Every year, William Reid students and their families 'adopt' families in need through the support of the charity, Evenstart, in their endeavor to help families in need within the Calgary Area. If you are interested in helping out on the Evenstart committee please contact School Council (wrchair@gmail.com).

Manchester Bottle Depot Donation

Manchester Bottle Depot – 410 – 38a Ave SE Calgary Alberta 

All parents can drop off their used bottles and containers at Manchester Bottle Depot and donate them to William Reid School. We appreciate all donations. Just let them know that you want to donate to “William Reid School”.

Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) Donation
  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
